Obituary for Genevieve A. “Gennie” Lunsford RICHMOND, Ind. – Genevieve A. “Gennie” Lunsford, age 95, of Richmond, Indiana, died Tuesday, December 4, 2018, at Forest Park Health Campus. Born March 14, 1923, in Bath, Indiana, to John and Dora Gordon McGaffeney, Gennie lived in this community most of her life.

She formerly worked at Miller’s Cafeteria and at the restaurant within Elder-Beerman. Gennie was a member of Hodgin Road Christian Church and was an active volunteer with the Reid Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing and creating jewelry.

Survivors include her nieces and nephews, including special niece and caregiver, Marsha Fisher of Richmond and special nephew, Larry (Teresa) Lunsford, who she spent winters with in Florida; cousins; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Virgil Lunsford, who died August 30, 1999; parents; three sisters; and three brothers. Visitation for Genevieve A. “Gennie” Lunsford will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.

Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2018, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor David Anderson and Heidi Thurston officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
