Obituary for Stanley Michael “Mike” Hughes RICHMOND, Ind. – Stanley Michael “Mike” Hughes, age 59, of Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, December 21, 2018, at his residence. Born January 21, 1959, in Richmond, Indiana, to Stanley F. and Ruth Wilson Hughes, Mike was a life-long resident of Richmond.

He graduated from Richmond High School in 1977 and attended Ball State University. Mike worked for many years at the Richmond State Hospital and attended Harvest House Ministries. He was an avid comic book fan, historian, and enjoyed social and political discourse with a philosophical and usually whimsical approach.

Mike remained young at heart. Survivors include his son, Andrew (Caiti Abrams) Hughes of Richmond; grandson, Raidyn; twin granddaughters, due in June; cousins, Bryan Scott (Melissa) Wilson of Richmond, Kevin (Madelyn) Morgan of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Karen (Eugene) Mertes of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and longtime friends, Jerry and Brenda Collins and Dave Reed, all of Richmond. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth, who died in 1973; father, Stanley, who died in 1983; aunts; uncles; and longtime close friends, Jay and Dana Booth.

A memorial service for Stanley Michael “Mike” Hughes will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019, at Calvary United Pentecostal Church, 3600 State Road 121, Richmond. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Memorial contributions may be made to: Help The Animals, Inc., P.O.
