Mary Joyce Wright November 20, 1946 – January 29, 2019 Mary Joyce Halaby Wright 72 of Roanoke departed this life on Tuesday, January 29, 2019. She was born November 20, 1946 in New York to the late Mary Joyce Halaby. She is preceded in death by Beatrice Guerrant, who was like a sister, Richard Guerrant and other siblings.

She was employed as a postal worker from which she retired. She relocated to Roanoke with her family. She was very head strong and spoke her mind.

She endured a lot of challenges in life. She joined Pilgrim Baptist Church and enjoyed attending services when her health allowed her. Those left to cherish her memory include her devoted daughter, Joyce (Larnell) Wooden, her stepson, Charles Wright, granddaughters, Danielle Wright and Dominique Irvis, 4 great grandchildren, Godchildren, Vanessa Scott, Bill Scott, Larry Scott, David Guerrant and Angela Guerrrant, a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
