Obituary for Mary “Mae” (Rocha) Ponte Mary “Mae” (Rocha) Ponte, 92, of Fairhaven, passed away peacefully at the Royal of Fairhaven on Friday, October 12, 2018. She was the wife of the late Frank Ponte whom she had been married to for over 50 years. Born in New Bedford, November 26, 1925, daughter of the late Emily and Manuel Rocha, she grew up in New Bedford and lived most of her life in Fairhaven.

Mae loved baking, reading and traveling but especially loved precious times with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mae is survived by her two sons, Michael Ponte and his wife Marie and Steven Ponte and his wife Ann all of Fairhaven; grandchildren, Mike, Matt, Mark, and Melissa Ponte and Hannah Brainer; and great grandchildren, Jackson, Grant, Carter, Maggie, Lillian and Santi. She was predeceased by her son, David Ponte and sister, Hilda Perry.

She will be remembered for her great zest for life and love and devotion for family and friends. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 16, 2018, from 9-10:30am, with a service at 10:30am, in the Fairhaven Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Fairhaven.
