Mattie Christine Payton Thomas, 76, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky went to her heavenly home on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at her residence. She was born March 5, 1942 in Spring Lick, Kentucky to the late John Richard Payton and Ruvine Hayes Ramsey. Mrs. Thomas was a homemaker and a proud member of the NRA.

Aside from her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Thomas; son, James Glen Brown; brother, James Richard Payton, and sister, Nancy Payton Watson. She leaves behind to cherish her memory one son, Bobby Joe (Marie) Brown of Franklin, Kentucky; two daughters, Deborah Lynn James of Hartford, and Vena Ray Cardwell of Morgantown; one daughter at heart, Shirley (Mike) Boone of Owensboro; one sister, Wanda (Jack) Holland of Leitchfield; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and friends. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 27, 2018 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky with Bro.

Chessie Shartzer officiating. Burial will follow in Render Memorial Cemetery. Friends may visit with Mrs. Thomas’ family from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Thursday and from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
