Maude Hastie Franks December 4, 1921 October 25, 2018 Maude was born in Bisbee, Arizona to Thomas M. Hastie and Sarah E. (Keig) Hastie. Maude was preceded in death her parents, five brothers, Ralph, William, Jack, Erik, and Thomas Hastie and three sisters, Mona Loper, Pearl Oliver, and Mildred Fletcher and her husband of 42 years William J. Franks. Maude is survived numerous nieces and nephews.

Maude enjoyed traveling, reading, crocheting, and crossword puzzles. She was past president and a life member of the Rebekah Assembly of Arizona and a life member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, Bisbee. Maude worked for the Phelps Dodge Mercantile store for 36 years.

She went to work in Warren and then transferred to the Bisbee store where she was head buyer for the Women’s Clothing. When the Bisbee store closed she went to Douglas where she retired in in 1978. Visitation for Maude will be held on Tuesday October 30, 2018 from 10 to 11 am followed by a funeral service at 11 am at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 19 Sowles Avenue, Bisbee.

Rites of Committal and Internment will be held on Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at 11 am in the Chapel of the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1300 Buffalo Soldier Trail Sierra Vista. Hatfield Funeral Home, Sierra Vista is entrusted with the arrangements.
