Mearl W. Tennant 79, of Woodstock, passed away Thursday June 21, 2018 at JourneyCare Hospice Inpatient Unit in Woodstock He was born in Janesville, Wisconsin on June 5, 1939 to Earl and Elizabeth (Hartwig) Tennant. He married Betty Croner on November 3, 1974 in Woodstock. He proudly served in the US Army from 1961 to 1963, and was a member of Vietnow.

He worked for many years at Standard Plastics in Elk Grove Village. He enjoyed his time as a Bus Driver at Family Alliance in Woodstock. He enjoyed woodworking, and loved making things for his family.

He loved to tell stories to all his family and friends. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be missed by all that knew him. He is survived by his wife of 44 loving years Betty; sons, Bruce (Lisa) Dahl, Michael Tennant and Steven Tennant; daughters, Michelle (Allan) Anderson, Kimberly Tennant and Christie Tennant; loving grandfather to Ryan Anderson and Bryce Dahl; a twin brother, Earl (Wilma) Tennant, and other brothers, Darrell Tennant, Davin (Kristen) Alan, Dale (Dawn) Tennant; as well as many nieces and nephews, and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial gathering will be held Monday June 25, 2018 from 10:00 am until the Memorial Service at 11:00 am at the Schneider, Leucht, Merwin & Cooney Funeral Home 1211 N. Seminary Ave. Woodstock.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to JourneyCare Foundation 2050 Claire Ct. Glenview, Ill. 60025-7635.
