Megan Gramowski, 37 of Omaha, Nebraska and formerly of Breda, died Sunday, January 20, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2019 at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in Breda with Fr. Timothy Schott officiating.

Lector for the funeral service will be Beth Tigges. Casket Bearers will be: Aaron Nickman, Brandon Scherer, Brett Gubbels, Kevin Kruse, Greg Odendahl, Mikaele Hayes, Alex Gramowski, Tanner Gramowski, and David Selonke. Burial will be in St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Breda.

Visitation will be held from 12-1:15 p.m. Monday at St. Bernard’s Church. Following the burial please join Megan’s family to celebrate her life at Red’s Place in Breda. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Sharp Funeral Home in Breda and online condolences may be left for Megan’s family at www.

sharpfuneral.com. Born on August 30, 1981 at Carroll, Iowa, Megan was the daughter of Dean and Cindy (Nieland) Gramowski. She attended Christ the King School in Breda and graduated from Kuemper Catholic High School in 1999.

Megan continued her education at the University of Northern Iowa where she received an Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Development. While is college, she had the privilege to tour the world with Camp Adventure. She also became lifelong friends with the Roth girls.

These experiences led Megan to student teach in Germany. Her love of travel took her to Egypt for her first year of teaching after college. She then returned home to teach in Iowa and Nebraska.

Megan spent several years in the Kansas City area being a nanny but her love for children and teaching brought her back to Omaha where she was currently working for Children’s Square and Lewis Central School District. Megan had a passion for the Iowa Hawkeyes. She was always there for her family and friends, especially Laura and Amy Jo and their children.

Her smile was priceless. Left to cherish her memory is her mother, Cindy (John) Wilson of Breda; her father, Dean (Deb) Gramowski of Glidden; her brother, Corey (Kari) Gramowski of Emmetsburg; her niece, Emma Gramowski; her nephews: Alex Gramowski and Tanner Gramowski; her grandmother, Gladys Nieland of Carroll; her step-brother and step-sister: David (Erica) Selonke and their family of Glidden and Cassondra (Jake) Schachtner and their family of Ida Grove; her aunts and uncles: Brenda (Bill) Bahrke of Neola, Sharon (Glen) Gubbels of Westphalia, Brian Gramowski of Champaign, IL, Diane (John) Odendahl of Carroll, Bruce Gramowski of Carlisle, and Dale (Renee) Gramowski of Boone; her cousins: Laura (Aaron) Nickman and their family, Amanda (Brandon) Scherer and their family, Cody Bahrke and friend Erin, Samantha (Kevin) Kruse and their family, Brett Gubbels, Greg (Rachel) Odendahl and their family, Jessica (James) Zimmerman and their family, Melissa Odendahl, Peyton Gramowski, Morgan Gramowski, Daniel Gramowski, Paige Gramowski, as well as many friends. Megan was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Norman Nieland; her paternal grandparents, Richard “Jim” and Arlene Gramowski; and her aunt, Sara Schmidt.
