MEGAN’s Obituary Megan Lynn Valum, 29 years old of Elkhorn, WI passed away Sunday, March 3, 2019 at her home. She was born April 6, 1989 in Rockford, IL, the daughter of the late Donald and Cathy (nèe Dreyer) Valum. Megan enjoyed being surrounded by friends and family, was an advocate for others and loved animals.

She also had an immense love of music, enjoyed watching television and was a fan of the Chicago White Sox. She is survived by her daughter, Alexie Hicks; her siblings, David (Roselyn) Janssen, Donald Valum, Jr., and Linda (Joe) Nelson; her cousin and mentor, Kristy (nèe Dreyer) Marva; her niece, Tabitha Valum; her nephews, Lee Foley, Sammy Nelson, Darrell King II; and many other cousins, aunts, uncles, great-nieces and great-nephews, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Darrell King and maternal grandmother, Dolores “Dee” (nèe Schwall) Dreyer.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00PM Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. Antioch, IL 60002, with a memorial visitation from 1:00PM until the start of the service. Interment will be private. For additional information, call 847-395-4000.
