ETHAN’s Obituary Ethan James Beronja, age 23, passed away at his home in Chicago, IL on February 27, 2019. Ethan had a charismatic and beautiful mind that attracted people wherever he went. He was a protective older brother who cared more for his brothers than for himself.

Ethan was a strength for his father when he needed him most. He had a love for his mother that was beyond compare. From the time he was born, his best times were spent under the nurturing care of his grandparents, which continued throughout his life with family gatherings that allowed him to build deep bonds with his cousins, aunts, and uncles.

Ethan loved skateboarding, art, photography, music, and was a great philosopher of the human spirit. He leaves behind a strong network of loving friends in the Chicago area. He is survived by his father, Gerald (Chelsey Okerberg) Beronja of Antioch, IL; his mother, Jori (nèe Whitford) Beronja of Lake Villa, IL; his brothers, Griffin and Tanner; his grandparents, Branko and Joanne Beronja of Naples, FL; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ethan is preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Lynn Whitford of Waterford, WI. Interment and services are private. Arrangements are entrusted to the STRANG FUNERAL HOME OF ANTIOCH, 1055 Main St. Antioch, IL 60002.
