SHARON’s Obituary Sharon Anne Simon, 76 years old of Antioch, IL, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at her home surrounded by family. She was born on July 1, 1942 in Waukegan, IL, the daughter of the late Donald and Wilma (nee Musch) Gibbs. Sharon was an entrepreneur and owned many businesses throughout Antioch, which included The Shoe Box, The ShU Save, The Lucky Lady Boutique, High Rollers, and The Harbour Club.

She was a lifelong Packers fan – she always enjoyed watching the games on television and participating in the Super Bowl events. Sharon was the Secretary of the Vizsla Club of Illinois. She was involved in raising, breeding, showing and field trials with her award winning Vizslas and German Short Hair Pointers.

She enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading, and crime scene investigation shows. Sharon was always the adventurous type – whether it was winning fishing derbies or taking casino trips (and being known for ALWAYS having good luck on the slots). If anyone knew Sharon, they knew that she was a rebel and a spitfire; she even took her father’s classic car to Wilmot and Union Grove to race.

Sharon is survived by her daughters, Cindy Collins, Terry (Keith) Taylor, and Sandra Simon; sister, Donna (Ken) Pryga; grandchildren, Jordan (Crissy), Aly (Cece), Cody, Cassi, and Kira; three great-grandchildren; nephews, Don and Paul; and niece, Jennifer. Along with her parents, Sharon is preceded in death by the love of her life, Joe Pechulis and her beloved cat, Skyy. Arrangements were entrusted to STRANG FUNERAL HOME, 1055 Main Street, Antioch, IL 60002.
