Obituary for Merle Farland “Bucky” Buckles Jr. Merle Farland Buckles Jr. “Bucky” was born in Elizabethtown, Kentucky on February 6, 1954 and died at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville on May 29, 2018. He was a 1972 graduate of East Hardin High School. Merle retired from Dart Container Corporation of Horse Cave.

He was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Merle was an avid Yankees and Wildcat fan. He was preceded in death by his father, Merle Farland Buckles Sr

He is survived by his mother, Betty Jean Taylor of Elizabethtown; three children, Christal (Donnie) Dempster, Jed Buckles, and Dustin Buckles, all of Elizabethtown; three siblings, Janice Hilton, Mark (Linda) Buckles, and Vicky (Mark) Falkovich; two grandchildren, Cody and Sara Dempster; and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a special niece, Jeana (Darrell) Boone of Elizabethtown. The graveside service will be held Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 11:00 am at Elizabethtown Memorial Gardens with Father Martin Linebach officiating.

In keeping with the wishes of Merle, there will be no public viewing. Condolences may be expressed on-line at www. manakeefuneralhome.com In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association in Merle’s honors.
