Michael H. Leonard March 07, 1962 – February 26, 2019 Share this obituary Send Flowers Sign Guestbook| Send Sympathy Card Girard – Michael H. Leonard, 56, passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2019. He was born March 7, 1962 in Youngstown, the son of William J. and Helen I. (Weber) Leonard.

Michael was a 1980 graduate of Ursuline High School. Mike was a tenacious basketball player earning Steel Valley All Conference honors and selection into the 1996 Ursuline Hall of Fame. He worked for Brentwood Originals for 25 years.

Michael was always there to help his parents and family in their time of need. In his spare time, Michael enjoyed golfing, playing the ponies, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He had a great sense of humor that provided a lot of laughter and joy which will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Michael will be remembered lovingly by his mother, Helen; six sisters, Mary Ann (Marty) Kanetsky, Colleen Schmitt, Karen (David) Thigpen, Nancy Orlando, Susan (Chris) Crowe, and Patricia (Mark) Brewer; three brothers, Timothy Leonard, Edward (Christine) Leonard, and Dennis Leonard; and 15 nieces and nephews, Matt (Erika) Kanetsky, Marty (Heather) Kanetsky, Marc (Kara Roche) Kanetsky, Kaitlin and Karen Crowe, Tyler, Trevor and Trace Leonard, Patrick Boppel, Elliott, Spencer and Huntley Brewer, and Dexter, Ava and Kara Kowalski; and his dear friend, Savong “Jit” Torday. He was preceded in death by his father, William; brother, William Joseph Leonard; and brother-in-law, Anthony “Tony” Orlando; and special aunt, Joann Leonard. Friends may call from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Sat.

, March. 9, 2019 at the Rossi Brothers and Lellio Funeral Home, 4442 South Avenue in Boardman, followed by an 11:30 a.m. memorial service. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made in Michael’s name to the donor’s charity of choice.
