Michael J.. Widowfield, 66 Lowellville-There will be a memorial service on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Lowellville United Methodist Church with Reverend Kathyrn Adams officiating for Michael J. Widowfield, 66, of Lowellville, who died suddenly on Friday, January 4, 2019. Michael, known by his family and friends as “Mike,” was born September 11, 1952 in Salem, the son of Jack and Eva (Shearer) Widowfield.

He graduated from East Palestine High School in 1970 and was a lifelong area resident. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Air Force. Mike starting working as a meat cutter at the age of 14 and worked for several grocery stores in the area.

He worked for the Nemenz family for several years. He worked for Save-A-Lot in New Castle, Pa. retiring in 2015.

Mike was a meat cutter for more than 52 years. He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 247 and the Lowellville Rod and Gun Club.

He enjoyed going fishing, camping and photography. Mike was an avid gardener and liked to grow garlic and yellow beans. Mike is survived by his wife, the former Frances L. Lukehart; two daughters, Michelle L. (Fredrick) Marcum of Youngstown and Jill M. (David, Jr.) Burnett of Hurst, Texas; five grandchildren, Blake, Clayton, and Alec Marcum, all from Austintown and Jewel and Stella Burnett of Hurst, Texas; a sister, Joyce A. (Edward) Miller; a brother, Timothy A. (Barbara) Widowfield; and two sisters-in-law, Linda J. (Carl) Baker and Sharlene D. (Michael) Howard.

Family and friends may call on Friday, January 11, 2019 from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Lowellville United Methodist Church, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Lowellville United Methodist Church, 190 W. Wood Street, Lowellville, Ohio 44436 in memory of Michael.
