Michael Keith Franklin, 55, of Bristol, TN passed away Friday, February 15, 2019 in the Christian Care Center of Bristol, TN. He was born in Bristol, VA on March 31, 1963, a son of the late Reginald and Nina Silas Franklin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Etta Regina Franklin and two brothers, Albert James Franklin and Tony Scott Franklin.

He was a resident of Bristol for most all of his life and was a veteran having served in the United States Army. Franklin was a machine operator with Aqua Mine, LLC for 14 years. Michael is survived by his son, Antonio Michael Franklin; step daughter, Kia Johnson; mother of his children, Corrine Johnson; five sisters, Mary Y. (Ira) Johnson, Vicci R. Lindsey, Ronnette G. (Charlie) Carter, Natasha C. Newton, and Phyllis Silcox; a brother, Thomas R. (Lisa) Franklin; special friends, Ruby Bridgeman and Jeff Rust and Stevie Sykes and family; and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the VA Medical Center and Amedysis Home Health for all the love and care shown to Michael during his illness. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Blevins Funeral & Cremation Services, 417 Lee St., Bristol, Va with Pastor Ira Johnson and Pastor Sean Franklin officiating. Committal Services and Interment will be private.

Military Rites will conducted by the Tennessee National Guard Honor Guard and the D.A.V. Chapter 40, Bristol, VA. Pallbearers will be family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to The Penny F. Garrett Sarcoma Foundation, P.O. Box 832, Damascus, VA 24236.
