Obituary for Michael R. “Mike” Nesbitt Michael R. “Mike” Nesbitt, 62, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018, at his home. Born December 28, 1955, in Lee County, he was a son of the late Hughie Nesbitt and the late Jessie Barfield Nesbitt. He was a member of Elliott Baptist Church.

Mike was the former owner and operator of Nesbitt’s Grocery in Elliott and retired from the S.C. Department of Transportation. Survivors include an aunt, Mollie N. Moore; an uncle, Calbert Johnson; and cousins, Susie Chavis, Andy Caughman, and Bill Johnson all of Bishopville; and a lifelong friend, Ricky Christmas of Sumter. He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Nesbitt.

A graveside service will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday in the St. Luke Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Ridenhour officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the graveside.
