Michael Shane Harless, age 59 of West Jefferson, died on Friday, January 4, 2019 at his home in Statesville. Michael was born on Saturday, November 14, 1959 to George Lane and Maxine Church Harless. He was preceded in death by his father, George Lane Harless, maternal grandparents, Mable & William Wiley Church, and paternal grandparents, George M. & Ida Harless.

He worked for Lowes Corporate Offices for 14 years and lastly at Food Lion Corporate offices. Michael loved to travel and he was a kind, generous, and passionate person. He was a good friend to everyone he met.

His family was very important to him and he enjoyed spending time with them. Michael lived his life to the fullest and will be dearly missed. Michael is survived by: his mother & step-father, Maxine & Bobby Church of Ferguson, one brother, Tony Harless and girlfriend Pam Phillips of West Jefferson, two nieces, Nikki Parsons and husband John, and Stephanie Harless, great nieces and nephews, Anabell, Asa & Ansley Parsons, and Braylon & Ember Phillips; several aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at 2:00 pm at Badger Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Herb Parunak. Burial will follow in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm prior to the service at Badger Funeral Home. Flowers are accepted or memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Words of comfort and remembrance may be viewed or sent to the family through our website at www.
