Michael Douglas Perry ( Mike) June 25th 1967 – December 8th, 2018 Mike Perry 51, passed away passed away December 8th, 2018. He was born in Slaterville, Utah June 25th 1967 to Allen Perry and Charlene Deschner. HE was the older of two babies born on that day.
Allen and Charlene gave birth to twins that day, Mike and Cherrie who were 59 minutes apart. Mike was always an exceptional child graduating high school with honors. In school Mike was an amazing artist often drawing beautiful landscape pictures.
Mikes intelligence eventually led him to an amazing job at Iomega, a software developing company. After a couple of years Mike was promoted to run a section of the company in North Carolina where he lived for the next six years. During this time Mike traveled the world, seeing places like Holland, Germany and Egypt one of his favorite places.
Mike always having a soft spot for cats fell in love with Egyptian cat sculptures during this time. After many years Mike came back to his home town Ogden, Utah. Looking for a change and wanting to be closer to family.
He eventually found a job at Genco a wonderful company, a home away from home. He loved this job and made so many life-long friends within the company. During the 8 years he worked for Genco he also discovered his passion for charity often helping however he could at the Lantern House, a local charity that helps the homeless where his older sister also works.
The two of them having such big hearts, together found solace in helping others. . Mike was a very likeable person, although sarcastic and rough around the edges was a very caring and giving person.
Having many interests and hobbies made him a great people person, easily able to fit in and make friends anywhere. HE had interest in a wide variety of things from books, movies, football and tennis to NASCAR and occasionally hunting with his best friend Travis King. One of Mikes biggest hobbies was his tattoos having used his artistic abilities to create some of his own original work.
He discovered his love of body art on his 32 birthday when his twin sisters insisted on paying for his first tattoo, at that time not knowing that he would eventually win 1st place awards at tattoo convention for his beautiful art. He was a great son, brother, uncle and friend. He is survived by his sisters Cherrie (twin) and Michelle Perry; Mother, Charlene’ Aunt Betty Hansen Perry; Niece, Tasha Zeller; three great-nephews and one great-niece; as well as his beloved beagle, Ranger.
Mike is preceded in death by his father, Allen Perry; as well as grandparents. A special thanks to Home Depot his current place of employment and to his wonderful nurses and doctors at Mckay Dee Hospital. A celebration of life gathering will be held at 2 PM Saturday, December 15, 2018 at his nieces house, anyone wanting to attend should call his sister, Cherrie at 801-564-9586.
