Obituary of Michael Piazza Michael Piazza, 80, of 2190 Swanson Road, passed away peacefully in his home on Thursday, October 25, 2018. He was born in Jamestown on August 25, 1938, a son of the late Charles and Mary Oliver Piazza. Following high school, he served in the US Navy from 1957 to 1959 with duty aboard the USS Tarawa.

A machinist, Mike was employed by MRC for 46 years, retiring in 2002. He was also active in the United Automobile Workers Union Local 338, beginning in the 1960’s and eventually serving as president for 24 years. Always involved, Mike had served as a board member for Meals On Wheels and the Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency (IDA).

He had also attended Christ First United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Lois E. Daniels Piazza, whom he married September 23, 1960; two sons, Michael A. and Mark E. Piazza, both of Jamestown; two brothers: Donald (Kathy) Piazza and Charles (Gloria) Piazza of Jamestown; two sisters: Jean (Jim) Licata of Niagara Falls and Rebecca Morris of Pittsburgh; as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Annette Crasti.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Matthew Rowe, pastor of Christ First United Methodist Church, will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 12:00 noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service Monday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the St. Susan Center, P.O. Box 1286, Jamestown, NY 14702.
