Michele Lynn “Shelly” Salyer, of Battle Creek, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Bronson Battle Creek. She was born January 29, 1968 in Battle Creek, Michigan the daughter of Gary A. and Connie L. (Mercer) Hunter. Shelly was a 1986 graduate of Harper Creek High School where she was a member of the Swim Team.

She has worked at Plymouth Packaging Box on Demand for the past 10 years and was a fantastic cake decorator. All her coworkers loved the birthday cakes she generously made for them. She also enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds at their home.

On June 15, 2000 she was married to Ray Salyer who survives. Also surviving is her son Neil Smith of Kalamazoo, mother Connie Hunter of Battle Creek, sister Kim Hunter of Battle Creek. Shelly was preceded in death by her father and grandparents.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, May 31, 2018 at the Richard A. Henry Funeral Home with Rev. Sue Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be directed to Susan G.
