Obituary for Mickey F. Balouzet Joseph Mickey F. Balouzet Joseph, 94, of Connellsville passed away peacefully Mon. July 2, 2018. She was born June 9, 1924 in Lyon, France a daughter of the late Francois and Marie-Louise Royer Balouzet.

Mickey met her husband Eugene Joseph of Connellsville during WW II when he was stationed in France. They were married in Connellsville in 1947. Mickey owned and operated Mickey’s Beauty Shop, out of her home, for over 30 years.

After closing her shop she went on to be a substitute teacher in the Connellsville Area School District, teaching French and Spanish. She was a avid bridge player and was particularly fond of her once a month bridge club, which she participated in for over 30 years. Mickey was a member of he French Culture Center of Western PA.

and was a volunteer for Children and Youth Services on the Foster Care Committee. She was a member of the Connellsville Partner Parish of St. Rita’s R.C. Church. In addition to her parents Mickey was predeceased by her husband Eugene Joseph on May 4, 1993, her daughter Odette Joseph, and her grandson Edward Wandel.

Mickey is survived by her daughter Michele Colbert of Connellsville, her son Pat Joseph and wife Janie of Connellsville, her grandchildren, Pat Joseph and wife Megan, Drew Joseph and wife Jessica, and Brittany Kimmel and husband Adam, and her 9 great grandchildren. Family and friends will be received Tue. from 5-8 PM in the Brooks Funeral Home Inc., 111 E. Green St., Connellsville (724-628-1430) where a Funeral Service will be held Wed.

at 10:30 AM with Rev. Robert Lubic as celebrant. Interment will be in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to the Carnegie Free Library, 299 S. Pittsburgh St., Connellsville Pa. 15425 or St. Rita’s R.C. Church, 116 S. 2nd St., Connellsville, PA. 15425, in memory of Mickey F. Joseph.
