Hallsboro: Mildred Council Thompson of Hallsboro , N.C. died peacefully Thursday morning at Liberty Commons in Whiteville, N.C. She was the daughter of the late David Niel Council and Zadie Flynn Council and was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Thompson, Sr. and brothers, Wilbur P. Council, Charles Council , Carl Council, and one sister, Lucille Greene. For many years she worked at Council & Co. , The Family business in Hallsboro.

She was an active member of Hallsboro Baptist Church and was envolved in every part of its ministry. Her greatest love was her family. She celebrated every family occasion but she especially enjoyed those times when all of the family could be together.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a son, William H. Thompson (Lynda) of Hallsboro, N.C. , daughter , Linda T. Fox ( Ed) of Whiteville, N.C., 4 Grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Saturday, March 30, 2019 at McKenzie Mortuary from 6-8 p.m. A Memorial Service will be Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at Hallsboro Baptist Church with Rev. Ed Vogt and Rev.
