MILDRED INEZ (BOWEN) GOOD Of Apache, OK Mildred Inez (Bowen) Good was born July 13, 1919 at home in Tribbey, Oklahoma, to Mittie Arthur Bowen & Allie (Robertson) Bowen. She passed away June 20, 2018 in Lawton, Oklahoma, at the age of 98. Mildred began school at Ft Cobb, Oklahoma.

In the second semester of 5th grade the family moved to Apache and she began attending school in Apache. Mildred graduated from Apache High School May 1938. Mildred married Gerald L. Good, Sr. in 1939 at Madill, Oklahoma.

He preceded her in death on October 3, 1990. While their son Gerald Lee Good, Jr. was in school, Mildred worked at Neals’ Grocery in Apache on Saturdays; she began working full-time in 1956. Beginning June 17, 1958 Mildred was employed at First Bank of Apache (later named Shamrock Bank).

She worked there until retiring June 1985. Mildred was a faithful and active member of the First Baptist Church, Apache. She helped with funeral dinners and serving meals to students at Cameron University.

After retirement Mildred started machine-piecing and hand-quilting many beautiful quilts. She joined the Farmerette Club & Happy Workers Quilting Club. She enjoyed joining the other members in hand-quilting each others’ quilts.

She is survived by son & his wife, Gerald & Mary Good, Apache, OK; and step-son & his wife, James Alan Good & Carol of Rolling Hills Estates, CA; grandson Bradley Good & his wife Holly, Lawton, OK and granddaughter Karen (Good) Hayes and her husband Fred Hayes, Broken Arrow, OK; grandchildren Karen, Sherrel, Leslie, Alison & James Alan Good II of California . Great-grandchildren: Coby Good, Rylan Good, Gatlin Capra, Courtney Capra, Dee Toliver, Lane Hayes, Emma Hayes, Cole Hayes; and Brailee & Ethan of California. Great-great grandchildren: Mazie Rae Toliver and Blake Alan Good.

She is also survived by several nieces & nephews. Mildred was preceded in death by: Her parents, her husband Gerald L. Good, Sr., her brothers and sisters & spouses Lester & Beulah Bowen, Earl & Dessie Bowen, Orlie Bowen, Malcolm & Zella Bowen, Venita & Paul McFadden, Leona & Deane Casebeer. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 23 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Crews Funeral Home.
