She passed away on December 31, 2018 in New Braunfels, Texas at the age of 90. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Fred Voges & his wife, Vera Mae; son-in-law, John H. Davis; in-laws, H.T. “Mike” & Augusta (Bormann) Schumann; brother-in-law, Hilmar Schumann and sister-in-law, Carolyn Ledbetter & her husband, Tom.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Carroll C. Schumann of New Braunfels, Texas; daughter, Carola McNeill Davis of New Braunfels, Texas; sons, Ross C. Schumann & wife, Edie of Dripping Springs, Texas, Scott M. Schumann of New Braunfels, Texas and Mark L. Schumann & wife, Jennifer of San Antonio, Texas; siblings, Harold Voges & wife, Doris Nell of New Braunfels, Texas, Leonard Voges & wife, Violet of New Braunfels, Texas and Mark Voges of Austin; grandchildren, Ryan McNeill, Rory McNeill, Ashley Duenzel & husband, Tobias, Andrea Davis-Self & husband, Kevin, Leah Arentz & husband, Mikael Evans, Christyn Baer & husband, Chris, Eric Holt & wife, Shannon, Matthew Schumann & wife, Jessica, Chandler Schumann and Harrison Schumann; great-grandchildren, Maureen Stettner & husband, Justin, Trace McNeill, Izabella Evans, Greta Arentz, Jake Evans, Farah Arentz, Ellison Baer, Myra Baer and Jude Baer, Morgan Holt, Addison Holt, Gavin Holt, Isabella Holt, Jayce Schumann, Knox Schumann and Lawsyn Schumann and great-great-grandchildren, Avery Grace McNeill and Olivia Monroe Stettner. Mildred was a very active member in the Lutheran church over her lifetime, in Bible Studies, Sunday School and serving in Alter Guild, Quilting groups, and many others. Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother; Mildred assumed the spiritual matriarch for her family from her mother, Hilda, demonstrating Service over Self.
The love of Christ shone from within. They are remembered for loving more, judging less, and making each person they encountered know they were cared for.
