Morene Westfall, age 91, of Pearcy, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, January 30, 2019. She was born on July 20, 1927, in the Briar Creek Community near Nashville, Arkansas. She was the only daughter of Roy Lay and Vergie Kesterson Lay.

On April 25, 1946, she was married to Jimmie Patrick Westfall, her devoted spouse for 68-years. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband Jimmie. Morene’s life was centered around caring for others.

She worked for Doctor Burton in Hot Springs as a receptionist and medical assistant. She later worked for and retired from the Lake Hamilton School District as a Teachers Aid specializing in teaching reading to fourth grade students. Morene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was a devout Christian who enjoyed singing in church choirs throughout her life. Her unconditional love for her family, country and friends were her trademarks. She especially enjoyed nurturing her grandchildren and RV traveling with Pat and Lola Rogers and other friends.

She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Brian and Yvonne Westfall of Hot Springs and Paul Westfall of Pearcy; five grandchildren, Katelynn Westfall of Hot Springs, Zachary Westfall of Carmel Valley, California, Clint Westfall of Hot Springs, Brandi Westfall of Dangerfield, Texas and Kelsey Coleman of Rogers, Arkansas and three great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 4 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs with Brother David Taylor officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Visitation will be held at the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. Pallbearers are Brian Westfall, Mike Scott, Steve Rogers, Clint Westfall, Rod Woodard and Tim Scott. Honorary pallbearers are Pat and Lola Rogers, Lester (Junior) and Mary Cox of the Skip Bo card playing group and her church family at Lake Hills Free Will Baptist Church.
