Obituary for Morrell R. Venable Morrell R. Venable was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on June 30, 1928. He was the son of Leslie L. Venable, Sr. and Ethel Watson Venable. On June 29, 1958, he married the late Lenora Marchetta Parker Venable.

Morrell graduated from Booker T. Washington Sr. High School. Upon graduation, he entered the U.S. Army and served for four years during the Korean Conflict, after which he attended Dillard University and graduated in Business Administration in 1956. In 1961, he established M.R. Venable Realty Company, where he became involved in residential property developments.

In 1975, he expanded his property investments to include business/commercial developments. He leaves to mourn his loss his two daughters, Ruby Haughton Pitts (Dr. Thomas Pitts) and Toni Venable Marshall (Chris Marshall), two grandsons, Rayne and Royce Haughton, two nieces, Linda Venable Borum and Tracie Venable Prevost, four nephews, Rev. Leonard M. Parker, Jr., Wayne A. Parker, Samuel Venable and Desmond Venable and a devoted friend Elliot Randolph.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie L. Venable, Sr. and Ethel Watson Venable and his four siblings, Cecile, Sylvester, Leslie and Samuel Venable, his wife, Lenora Marchetta Parker Venable, two nephews, Leslie L.Venable, III. and Michael J. Venable and his devoted friend Kenneth Carter. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, December 1, 2018 between 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm with service to follow at 1:00 pm at D.W. Rhodes Chapel, 3933 Washington Avenue.
