Nancy Rider Brown, 72, of Elizabethtown, died Monday January 21, 2019 at Hardin Memorial Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a native of Hardin County, growing up in Upton. She worked 33 years in education, to include the last 20 years serving at GC Burkhead Elementary as a Teacher, Assistant Principal, and Principal before retiring in 2000.

She believed in the importance of education. She loved traveling and antiquing. She was an active member of Valley Creek Baptist Church.

Most of all, Nancy was a wonderful wife and mother, who will be deeply missed. She was preceded in death by parents Melvin and Norene Rider. Nancy is survived by a loving spouse of 51 years, Charles Brown, a daughter, Angie Lilly of Elizabethtown, two brothers Doug (Sandy) Rider,Terry (Brenda) Rider, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She had the support of many close friends and relatives especially her brother and sister in law Barry and Connie Brown. Funeral Services will be held Friday January 25, 2019 at 11:00 am at Manakee Funeral Home of Elizabethtown with Rev. Scott Kerr and Rev.

Todd Brown officiating. Visitation will be Thursday January 24, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm and continues Friday from 9:00 am until the time of service at Manakee Funeral Home of Elizabethtown. Condolences may be expressed online at www.
