Obituary of Nancy L. Miller Nancy L. Miller, 85, of 4108 Baker St. Ext. , Lakewood, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2019, in her home. An area resident all her life, she was born August 28, 1933 in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Raymond J. and Hazel C. Lewis Beaty.
She was a 1951 graduate of Southwestern High School and attended Jamestown Community College. For many years she was employed at First National Bank and their mergers retiring at Chase Bank as an Assistant Vice-President and Branch Manager of the Chautauqua Mall branch. In earlier years she was employed at the former Rodman Letter Service and the American Manufacturing Company.
She was a member of the Lakewood United Methodist Church for many years where she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, was on the Finance Committee, treasurer of the Vision Committee, and was the church auditor. She belonged to the Lakewood Busti Golden Agers where she had served as President, Vice-President, and Treasurer for many years. Was a member of the Red Hatters, Jamestown Senior Citizens, the former Diana Lodge IOV, Lakewood Rod and Gun Club, American Institute of Banking, and the National Association of Bank Women.
Nancy loved and took great pride in her grandchildren and four red-headed great grandchildren. She enjoyed puzzles, reading, and outings with her many lunch groups. Until recently, once a month she had lunch with some of her kindergarten classmates.
Nancy was always there to help others. She will forever be remembered for her rice pudding, which she made for many people, including many various church functions. She is survived by her two daughters: Cheryl (Gordon) Brunne of Barrie, Ontario Canada and Kimberly (Russ) Margaglio of Jamestown; four grandchildren: John (Amanda) Brunne, Ethan (Julia) Brunne, both of Barrie, Ontario Canada, Shandra (Ryan) Allar of Donaldson, Pa, Sebastian (Allison Rabent) Margaglio of Cheektowaga, NY; four great grandchildren: Kaiden and Kooper Allar, both of Donaldson, Pa and Reilly- Marie and Jolene Brunne, both of Barrie, Ontario Canada; and a step-sister Carolyn Ludwiczak of Palmetto, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father John G. Jackson; her husband John R. Miller, whom she married Sept. 24, 1955 and whom passed away Aug. 31, 1973; a sister Mary J. Schultz; and two step-brothers John A. Jackson and Robert Jackson.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 14, 2019 in the Lind Funeral Home. The Rev. Michael Childs, pastor of the Lakewood United Methodist Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Friends will be received from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care, 20 W. Fairmount Ave.
