Obituary for Norma Jean Flowers Norma Jean Flowers, 85, passed away suddenly at Baptist Hospital East on Wednesday, June 27, 2018, after a brief illness. She will always be remembered as a loving mother, wife, Mamaw and GiGi, for her loving and giving heart, and caring for others. Norma was born in Detroit, Michigan on November 19, 1932, to the late John E. and Norma Elizabeth Ditsler.
She was a 1950 graduate of Presentation Academy and a longtime member of Iroquois Presbyterian Church where she served in many capacities including treasurer, elder and tireless volunteer. In recent months, she enjoyed attending Pee Wee Valley Presbyterian Church and was a resident of Forest Springs Health Campus. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald F. Flowers; a sister, Joann Ditsler; her beloved sons, Danny Flowers and Michael Flowers, and a precious grandson, Caydan Michael Flowers.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Donald Flowers (Kathy) and Larry Flowers (Michele); 6 grandsons, Brandan Flowers (Sara), Andrew Flowers, Landan and Braydan Flowers, and Steve and Robbie Flowers; a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Flowers and a great-grandson, Trey Eiler; sisters, Mary Lou Hambrick (Phil) and Joyce Connor; brothers, John “Bud” Ditsler, Chuck Ditsler of Richmond, VA, and Gerald Ditsler (Nanette), many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be Friday, June 29, 2018, from 2:00-8:00 PM at Ratterman Brothers Funeral Home, 12900 Shelbyville Road, East Louisville. Services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
