Norman W. Hallifax, 77, of Staunton, VA (formerly from Newfane, NY) died peacefully May 15, 2018. He was born in Lockport, New York. He was employed by General Motors / Harrison Radiator for over 30 years.

Mr. Hallifax was also a volunteer fireman with the Miller Hose Fire Company. He loved sports, refinishing antique trunks, fishing, hunting, and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Cleveland Browns. He was preceded in death by his father, Glen Hallifax; his mother Marjorie Hallifax; his two brothers, Tom Hallifax and Robert Hallifax; and his brother-in-law, Darrell Greene.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Sharon Hallifax; his loving children, Kelli (Sam) Pines of Newfane, NY; Jody (Jeffrey) Conrad of Waynesboro, VA; Randy Hallifax of Lockport, NY; and Robin (Hallifax) Boos of Staunton, VA. He has 7 adoring grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He loves his grandchildren and great-grandchildren equally, but not the same, for each is different in their own special way.

Everyday he thanked God for the blessings he received in having a wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren as wonderful as these. A memorial service is scheduled on Saturday, June 2, 2018 at 2:00pm at West Waynesboro Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 427 Cattle Scales Rd. Waynesboro, VA 22980.

Officiant, Jay Wayland. Interment will be in Rutland Corwin Cemetery, Newfane, NY 14108. Memorial contributions can be made to the Hospice of the Piedmont, 501 Park Street, Charlottesville, VA 22911.
