Odell Lockman Dunn March 13, 1933 – May 05, 2019 Share this obituary Sign Guestbook| Memorial Donation Odell Lockman Dunn, 86, of Charlottesville passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2019 at a local nursing home. He was born in Charlottesville on March 13, 1933 to the late Zack Dunn and Virginia Marrs Dunn. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Maxine Dunn; one brother, Roy Dunn; three sisters, Shirley Batten, Dorothy Kirby and Kathleen Deane and one grandson, Christopher Bruce Codwise.

Odell was retired from the U.S. Army serving for 22 years in food service. He was later employed at McDonalds in food service, Allied Concrete, Martha Jefferson Hospital in food service, Ramada Inn, the Moose Lodge as club manager, the Elks Lodge, Quick Pick Convenience Store and Aunt Sarah’s Pancake House. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by two daughters, Linda Shisler and husband Barry, Barbara Codwise and husband Bruce; one granddaughter, Jamie Nuckols and husband Hudson; four great-grandchildren, Brianna, Christian, Julia and Joshua; one son, Kenneth Odell Dunn; sisters, Jean Dudley, Cora Horne, Athalene Goolsby, and Tiny Goolsby. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Hill and Wood Funeral Home Downtown Chapel with Rev. Landon Collins officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will be private.
