Ozie’s Obituary Ms. Ozie B. El, 93, passed away on January 17, 2019 at Autumn Terrace Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on November 30, 1925 in Dumas, Arkansas to parents Fred Lewis and Catherine Howard. She was preceded in death by her husband Herman El, one sister Arree Green, four brothers Walter Williams, Jesse Garrett, Atlas Davis, Samuel Davis and one great-great granddaughter, Amelia.

Ozie was educated in the Kansas City Missouri public school district. She was employed as a housekeeper. Ozie was married to Herman El on August 22, 1969 until his passing.

She was full of life and enjoyed singing, dancing, listening to music from country to blues (B.B. King), tending to her rose garden and she could crochet anything. She leaves to cherish her memory: a daughter, Wilma Pickett (Esau); three grandchildren, Kimberly Sensley (Nicholas), Tonya Brown, and Gerald Keith Pickett; six great grand children, Natalie Simmons, Michael Simmons (Cristina), Kimberly Simmons, Joshua Sensley, Mikaela Sensley, and Steven Keith Pickett; great-great grandchildren, Jaylin, Xavier, Corey, and Roman; a host nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Funeral services Thursday, January 24, 1:00 p.m. at Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors.

Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Services conducted by Duane E. Harvey Funeral Directors. Condolences may be shared on our website.
