Pamela Rivers Heidel, 69, died Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on January 19, 1949 in Buncombe County to the late Arthur Jones Rivers, Jr. and Elizabeth Gregory Rivers and was the wife of 44 ½ years to Alvin Gene Heidel who survives. Pamela retired from Mid-State Services.

Survivors other than her husband, Alvin Heidel include her son, Ned Heidel and wife, Amy of Burlington, Matt Heidel and fiancé, Hannah Bonner of Iowa City, IA; step daughter, Mary Hartman of Auburndale, FL; grandson, Nathan Heidel of Burlington; sisters, Anne Ross of Rocky Face,GA, Kit Granat and husband, Dick of Palm City, FL; brother, Art Rivers and wife, Cathy of Oakdale, TN; several nieces and many friends scattered throughout North Carolina, Tennessee and Florida. The celebration service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, November 3, 2018 at Mebane Street Church of Christ by Mr. Terry Rikard.

The family will receive friends from 12:30pm to 1:45pm Saturday prior to the service at the church and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 22478, Oklahoma City, OK 73123.
