Obituary for Patricia Guthrie Sparks Patricia Margaret Guthrie Sparks of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, formerly of Elmore City, was born to Ocie William and Selma E. (Alexander) Guthrie on September 19, 1942 in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma and passed from this life on October 18, 2018 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 76 years. Patricia, along with her wonderful parents and sisters, was raised in the Antioch community. She attended school in Antioch, Elmore City High School, and East Central University.
Patricia worked for 36 years in property casualty insurance companies as an agent. Patricia was a member of Daughters of American Revolution, United Daughters of the Confederacy, and National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century. In her spare time, she enjoyed crochet, square dancing and genealogy.
Patricia always encouraged supporting your family and friends. She taught them the importance of spending time and loving one another. Patricia is survived by: Sister: Laquetha Guthrie Young of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 4 nieces: Suzanne Gardner-Jacobs and Bernie of Brooklyn, New York Betsy Gardner of Tucson, Arizona Hope Kelley of Maysville, Oklahoma Junko Ozaki of Hillsborough, North Carolina 2 nephews: Shon McWhirter and Michelle of Maysville, Oklahoma Shan McWhirter and Angie of Maysville, Oklahoma Great-nieces and great-nephews: Nicki Ozaki; Sheena Ozaki; Austin Penner; Dalton McWhirter; Taylor Barrington; Mikayla Kelley; Shyann McWhirter; Johnna Kelley; Siera McWhirter; and Addison Kelley Extended family: Barbara McCurdy; Michelle, Richie, Reed, and Brooklyn Cooley Patricia was preceded in death by: Parents: Ocie and Selma Guthrie Sister: Johnnie McWhirter Visitation will be at Wooster Funeral Home in Pauls Valley on Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. and Sunday, October 21, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Wooster Funeral Home Chapel in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma with Harvey Dean and Dan Sparks officiating.
