PATRICIA JOAN “PATTY” ADKINS, age 88, of South Solon, crossed the line of worlds on Saturday, April 21, 2018 at Court House Manor in Washington CH. She was born on June 20, 1929 in Miami County to Gerald and Virgia Sturgeon Seidler. She graduated high school and pursued a couple of years of college courses at Heidelberg University.

She started career life in the secretarial field at Wright Patterson Air Force Base, got married, ran their own grocery store, met Jesus, became the consummate stay at home mom and then became the minister’s wife. After some years and divorce, she worked a full career at Uni-Grip Corporation, retiring at age 70 after 32 years. But none of all that was her real life: her real life was living for Jesus by teaching children, sharing with kids and grands, mentoring and sharing her Christian life with as many people as possible.

She knew the stars, loved nature, music, the Outer Banks, and most of all, missions. Over the years she filled most children’s positions in the church, shared endlessly with needy people, missionaries and children around the world. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents; and her younger brother, Donald Seidler.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Beamer, her younger brother, James Seidler, sisters-in-law, Sada Long, and Anna Davis, children, Robert (Vicky) Adkins, Michael (Martha) Adkins, Sandra Kay Adkins, Timothy (Mary) Adkins, grandkids, Nathan (Kristin) Adkins, Aaron (Christie) Adkins, Jon (Amy) Adkins, Tracy (Ron) Vanhorn, Amanda (Dustin) Arledge, Jennifer (Paul) Walters, Zachery Adkins, Micah Adkins, Nicholas (Brynne) Adkins, Natalie (Patrick) Simonson, Erin (Joseph) Bauer, Matthew Adkins, Michael Adkins, Lee Adkins, Madison Adkins, 22 great-grandkids, and 2 great, great grandkids. The funeral service will be held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Community Church with Pastor Bruce Sigman officiating with burial to follow at the South Solon Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church on Thursday evening from 5-8:00 p.m. and again on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
