Pauline Womer Raudenbush Achey, age 93, passed away at Lehigh Valley Medical Center – East, Pottsville, on Monday, October 15th. Born in West Penn Twp. on June 10, 1925, she was a daughter of the late Elbert & Katie Daubenspeck Womer.

She was a 1942 graduate of Tamaqua High School. She received her BS degree in Education from Kutztown State Teachers College in 1945 and her Master of Education degree in 1965 from Kutztown University. She taught school for 32 years – 15 years in West Penn Twp.

and 17 years in Schuylkill Haven. Following her retirement from teaching, she assisted her husband as a bookkeeper at their family business, U. S. S. Achey, Inc., Iron & Metal Processors. She was a life member of Tau Kappa Society and the National Honorary Athletic Sorority.

She received special recognition from the Kutztown University Athletics Hall of Fame. She is survived by two children: Arthur L. Raudenbush, Jr. and his wife, Jennie, Schuylkill Haven, and Kathleen Raudenbush Brill, wife of John, Mechanicsburg, seven grandchildren: Arthur W. Raudenbush & his wife, Jennifer, Gregory Raudenbush, & Katy Raudenbush Lindenmuth, all of Schuylkill Haven, Dr. Brandon Raudenbush & his wife, Dr. Elenee Raudenbush, Ohio, Shay DeSilva & her husband, Yohann DeSilva, Lauren Brill, all of Washington D.C., & Alexa Brill, Camp Hill, as well as seven great-grandchildren, a sister, Helen May Mosser, Phoebe Nursing Home, Allentown, and a brother, Paul Womer, Kempton. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her first husband, Arthur L. Raudenbush, Sr., second husband, Ulysses S. S. Achey, an infant daughter, brother, Franklin Womer, and a great-grandchild, Shawntel Rountree.

The family would prefer, in lieu of flowers, contributions should be made in Pauline’s memory to Avenues, 2 Park St., Pottsville, PA 17901. A Celebration of Life Funeral Service will be conducted Thursday, October 18th at 1:30 p.m. at Geschwindt-Stabingas Funeral Home, Inc., Schuylkill Haven. A viewing will be held at 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home in Schuylkill Haven.

Interment will follow the service at Schuylkill Memorial Park, Schuylkill Haven.
