PFC, Damaso “Papo” Gonzalez Pagan, USAR, age 67, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at the Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital, located in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on December 11, 1951 in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. Preceding him in death were his parents, Angel Gonzalez Mulero and Maria Eligia Pagan Nieves.

Family members left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife of 44 years, Carmen M. Colon Rodriguez of Toa Baja, PR; daughters: Dalisa Gonzalez Colon (Monica Rodriguez Burgos), Damara Gonzalez Colon (Lorenzo Rodriguez), and Daliana Gonzalez Colon (Richard Patiño); brothers/sisters: Ernesto Gonzalez Pagan, Efigenia Gonzalez Pagan, Julio Gonzalez Pagan, Juana de la Cruz Gonzalez Pagan, Angel Gonzalez Pagan, Charlie W. Gonzalez Pagan, Ruben Gonzalez Pagan, and Raul Gonzalez Pagan; grandchildren: Jonathan Jose Chevez Gonzalez, Dana Paola Chevez Gonzalez, and Christopher Daniel Chevez Gonzalez; Visitation will be held on Monday, January 28, 2019 from 4 to 9 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel of Faith. Full military honors will be rendered by the United States Army and the American Legion Honor Guard Post #595 (5 p.m.). A Prayer Service will be held at 7 p.m. Burial will follow at the Puerto Rico National Cemetery, located in Bayamon, Puerto Rico at a later date.
