OBITUARY Pietro Filippa January 13, 1931 – December 17, 2018 Pietro Filippa, 87, of Hartford, beloved husband of the late Marzia (Fabrizzi) Filippa, passed away peacefully on December 17, 2018. Pietro was born in Pianopoli, Province of Catanzaro, Calabria, Italy on January 13, 1931 and was the son of the late Antonio and Maria Teresa Filippa. Pietro immigrated to Hartford in the 1950’s and worked for the Colt Firearms Company for many years.

He leaves his beloved son, Anthony Filippa of Manchester, his neices Maria and Tommasina of Italy, along with their spouses and families. Pietro also leaves his friends Pina LoCurzio and Mario Servidone. In addition to his wife and parents, Pietro was predeceased by his four sisters and a niece.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 26th at 9:00 a.m. at the D’Esopo Funeral Chapel, 277 Folly Brook Boulevard, Wethersfield. Entombment will immediately follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford. There will be no calling hours.
