Obituary of Ralph Veneruso, Sr. Ralph A. Veneruso, Sr., age 83, of Monroe, beloved husband of the late Nancy Ann Beaudin Veneruso, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 15, 2018. Born in Bridgeport on June 26, 1934, he was a son of the late Gaetano and Anna Disa Veneruso. Ralph attended Bridgeport schools and graduated from Central High School in 1952.

He attended the University of Bridgeport for two years; then he served in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. He was stationed in Germany as a Corporal Radio Operator. Upon his return from the military, Ralph attended New Haven Teachers College from 1956-1959 and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Elementary Education.

He went on to Fairfield University from 1960-1964 and earned a Master’s Degree in School Administration, as well as a Certificate of Advanced Study (6th year degree) also in School Administration. Ralph served as a Field Associate for the University of Bridgeport and Sacred Heart University in training future teachers. He became a school principal and proudly served the City of Bridgeport Board of Education for more than 25 years.

Ralph enjoyed family parties, cooking, sports and old movies. But his greatest role in life was that of husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. The memories created and loved shared will always live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include six children, Kimberly Koch and her husband John of Shelton, Guy Veneruso and his wife Rebecca of Monroe, Ralph Veneruso Jr. of Monroe, Suzanne Provenzano and her husband Mark of Trumbull, Julie Dorsey and her husband James of Shelton and Jennifer Crisanti of Derby, his daughter-in-law, Felicia Veneruso of Westport, 17 grandchildren, Jamie (Chris), Johnny (Jan), Rockelle, Gaetano, Gino, Rocco, Gianna, Dominick, Vincent, Gianni, Gabriella, Julieanna, Christopher Jr., Ashley (Pat), James, Shawna and Joseph, a great granddaughter, Layla Provenzano, a brother, Dr. Ciro Veneruso of Shelton, brother-in-law, Frank Tamburrino of NY; as well as several nieces and nephews, and his loving canine companion, Angel. In addition to his beloved wife of 58 years, and his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Christopher Veneruso, Sr. and son-in-law Ron Crisanti; as well as his special dog Love-U. Friends are invited to meet directly in St. Jude Church, 505 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial.

Entombment with military honors will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Church, 505 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, CT 06468.
