Raughn E. Taylor Raughn Earl Taylor, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away September 18, 2018 with his family at his side. He was born September 21, 1935 in Ogden, Utah to Alton and Selma Taylor. Raughn grew up in Henefer, Utah and graduated from North Summit High School and LDS Seminary.

He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Technology from Utah State University. He married his eternal companion Dian Butt on June 23, 1961 in the Logan LDS Temple. He and Dian have three sons, DeVor, Earl and Shawn.

Raughn had a passion for the outdoors which he shared with his family. He loved to fly small aircraft, ski, camp, fish, hunt and explore the mountains with his family and friends. He served in the LDS church as Elder’s Quorum Secretary and Ward Membership Clerk in the Henefer first ward.

He worked for the Marquardt Corporation as a ramjet test engineer and later for Hercules Powder Company as a rocket test engineer. Raughn went on to pursue his interest in aviation by becoming a commercial pilot and operating a Crop Dusting business in Utah and ldaho. He also flew for Hunter Aero Specialties spraying for the Mosquito Abatement districts in the top of Utah.

Raughn worked for the IRS as a tax examiner during the winter months for seven years. He transitioned to the US Postal Service as Postmaster of the Henefer post office, retiring in 2001 after 30 years of service. Raughn is survived by his wife Dian, his sons DeVor (Leisha), Earl and Shawn (Erin) and 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Kayla. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 11:00 AM at the Henefer 2nd Ward 708 North Main Street, Henefer, Utah. A viewing will be held 10:00 – 10:45 AM prior to the services at the Church.

lnterment will be in the Henefer, UT cemetery.
