Obituary for Raul Gonzalez Torres Raul Gonzalez Torres, 59, of Pampa, lost his battle to cancer on Friday, January 18, 2019 while in the arms of his beloved wife. He was born on November 28, 1959 to Urbano and Maria Gonzalez in Durango, Mexico. Raul had lived in Pampa for the last eighteen years and worked as a driller for Patterson Drilling Company until his sickness wouldn’t allow him to work any longer.

He loved experiencing life with his wife, Cynthia. Before being sick, Raul was a very active man and spent much of his time outside, working in his garden and the yard or manning the BBQ grill. He enjoyed watching all sports, but especially baseball.

His hobbies included visiting the lake, shooting his BB gun and eating in all different kinds of restaurants in order to taste various flavors of foods. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Cergio Gonzalez and Francisco Gonzalez.

Those left behind to cherish a lifetime of memories are his parents of Mexico; wife, Cynthia Juarez of Pampa; son, Raul Gonzalez Torres, Jr. of Tempe, Arizona; three daughters, Cynthia Vanagas of Arizona, JoAnna Gonzalez of Las Vegas, Nevada, Adriana Franks of New York; three step-children, Veronica Rojas, Hope Rojas, Thomas Rojas all of Colorado; three brothers, Cesar Gonzalez of Texas, Carlos Gonzalez, Urbano Gonzalez, Jr. both of Mexico; five sisters, Rosalina Morales of California, Angelica Morales of Texas, Teresa Cardinas of Las Vegas, Nevada, Candel Montoya of Texas, Prisma Gonzalez of Mexico; seven grandchildren; numerous sisters and brothers-in-law and his beloved Chihuahua, Bella Mia. As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society at 3915 Bell St. Amarillo, Texas 79109 or online at www. cancer.org in honor of Raul.

Raul will be available for viewing Wednesday, January 23rd from 3 pm to 8 pm, Thursday, January 24th from 9 am to 8 pm and Friday, January 25th from 9 am to 8 pm with a Gathering of Family and Friends being held from 5 pm to 8 pm and the Rosary being recited at 7 pm at Winegeart Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Funeral Mass is scheduled for 2:00 pm, Saturday, January 26, 2019 at Saint Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Father Francisco Perez officiating. The family has trusted the care of their loved one to Winegeart Funeral Home.
