Raymond Joseph Anderson, 64, Ernest, died Sunday, February 24, 2019 while at Twin Lakes Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center, Greensburg, PA, after a bout with leukemia. Ray was the youngest of seven children born to Donald and Mary (Laconis) Anderson, he was born March 16, 1954 in Indiana, PA. Ray graduated from Marion Center Area High School in 1974.

His life work included many years at Season All and Trader Horn. His love was being a volunteer firefighter for the Creekside Fire Company. He was a member of the fire company for 36 years for which he has many certificates and awards for his years of service and for all the schooling and class he participated in.

He gathered many accomplishments doing a job he loved. Always ready to service with any call, whether it be a fire, accident, serving at dinners and the fair, and always ready for the call of “Bingo”. He spent his last years as a traffic director for the fire company.

Thank you for all the many thoughts and prayers you sent Ray’s way during his illness, it meant a lot to him. Ray returned to church in his later years where he served as an Alter boy for the Assumption Parish for many years. He also helped the church feed the homeless in Pittsburgh, another job he loved doing.

Surviving are his sisters, Donna Anderson, whom he lived with his entire life and Toni Peightal and her husband, Jim; and a sister-in-law, Sandy Anderson, all of Ernest. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, young and old, who will miss him. Preceding Ray in death were his parents; sisters, JoAnne and Mary; and brothers, Rich and Don.

Friends will be received on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home, Indiana. A Blessing Service will be conducted on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Lefdahl Chapel. Interment will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Creekside Fire Company in Ray’s name, which would be a great tribute to him.
