Raymond’s Obituary Raymond “Chato” Hernandez, 62, passed away March 26, 2019 in Amarillo, TX. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Trinity Worship in Childress, TX with Rev. Ronnie Shoffner presiding.

Visitation will be on Friday, March 29, 2019 from 7:00 PM-8:30 PM at Johnson Funeral Home in Childress. Raymond was born on December 5, 1956 to Margarito and Dominga (Vitela) Hernandez in CeeVee, TX. He enjoyed fishing, drawing, and many other creative arts and crafts.

Raymond especially loved spending time with his family and being outside, whether sitting around a fire, frying fish or barbequing. He also enjoyed watching his grandson, Kolton, play baseball. Raymond liked to watch wrestling as well.

Raymond was a member of the CHS class of 1976. In 1975 he helped to carry the Bobcats to the State Championship game for the first time. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.

Raymond is preceded in death by his parents, Margarito and Dominga Hernandez; daughter, Crystal; two sisters, Espanaza and Maria; three brothers, Frank, Joe, and Mike, Jr He is survived by son, Jeremy Carlos Hernandez and Liz Park of Amarillo, TX; two daughters, Erica Beth “Pumkin” of Pampa, TX; Lisa Ann “Precious” DeWitt and husband Rusty of Pampa, TX; two grandsons, Kolton Hernandez of Amarillo, TX; Preston Stroud of Pampa, TX; four granddaughters, Priscilla Hernandez of Pampa, TX; Addison Hernandez of Pampa, TX; Jymma Hernandez of Pampa, TX; Whitlee DeWitt of Adrian, MO; three brothers, Johnny and wife Vivian Hernandez of Collinsville, TX; Bobby and wife Patricia Hernandez of Childress, TX; Charlie Hernandez of Collinsville, TX; three sisters, Rosie and husband David Abrego of Collinsville, TX; Mary Ragsdale of Collinsville, TX; Betty Hernandez of Gainsville, TX; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
