Raymond E. Garner, 86, of Milan, passed away Monday October 22, 2018 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline. Services will be 11am Monday October 29, 2018 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 300 2nd Ave W, Milan. Visitation will be Monday from 10am to service time at the church.

Burial will follow in National Cemetery, Rock Island, with military honors by the United Sates Army. Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home and Crematory, Milan is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be left to the family.

Raymond was born on October 5, 1932 in Quincy, IL, the son of James and Lucy Garner. He married Audrey C. Nelson on December 20, 1952 in LaGrange, MO. Mr. Garner had been employed at John Deere as a welder retiring in 1995.

Raymond was a United States Army Veteran having served in Korea. He loved spending time with his family, especially his daughters. Raymond also enjoyed playing cards and fishing.

Survivors include his daughters, Rita K. Garner, Rock Island, Colleen Stark, East Moline; grandchildren, Brandon R. Gardner, Victoria Stark, Tyler Stark; great grandchildren, Chase Gardner and Eliza Garner; brother, Herbert Wayne Garner, Maywood, MO. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey in 2008; his parents, James and Lucy; brothers, Howard Garner and Gene Garner; sisters in law, Judith Hager and Roberta Hager Baumer.
