Raymond’s Obituary CHARLAND, Raymond Keith “Ray”- of Davison, age 88, passed away January 31, 2019 at Cottage of Davison. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12:00 PM Monday, February 4, 2019 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. Fr.

Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Entombment with Military Honors will follow in St. John Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 – 4 PM and 5 – 8 PM Sunday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd.

, Davison. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the Mass on Monday at the church. A Memorial Service, under the auspices of Third Degree Knights of Columbus Council #4090 and Fourth Degree Assembly #0523 of Davison will be held 6:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Catholic Church Building Fund or Michigan Singing Knights. Ray was born in Bethlehem, New Hampshire on June 11, 1930, son of the late Louis and Nellie (Washburn) Charland. He married Catherine Betty Wash in Flint on July 31, 1954.

Catherine preceded him in death on September 22, 2012. Ray retired from General Motors, enjoyed gardening, dancing and playing euchre. He has been a member of the Knights of Columbus since 1964 and was a member of the Singing Knights Chorus.

Ray proudly served in the United States Army, fighting in the Korean War for 39 months. He was also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars-Davison Post #4087. Ray is survived by his children, Steve (Sherry) Charland, Renee (Dennis) LaRocque, Brenda (Scott) Wade and Melissa Lusher; grandchildren, Brandon (Julie) Charland, Bridget Charland, Matthew LaRocque, Kevin (Brittany) LaRocque, Andrea LaRocque and Nathan Wade; great-grandchildren, Keith, Amelia and Evelyn; sibling, Marion Houle of Quebec, Canada.

He was preceded in death by sister, Katie Houle. The family would especially like to thank the Cottage of Davison and Dr. James Walter for the special care they gave Ray. Please share your thoughts with the family at www.
