Raymond Meadows, 91, of Powder Springs, GA passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 in Atlanta, GA. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at 2 o’clock with Rev. Cindy Conner officiating at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel.

Raymond is survived by his daughters, Vivian Meadows Hackett(Bill) of Powder Springs, GA & Michele Meadows Furr(Tom) of Powder Springs, GA; brother, James Meadows(Pat) of Woodstock, GA; grandsons Brad Hackett(Kari) of Smyrna, GA, Todd Hackett(Emily) of Smyrna, GA, Ryan Furr(Theresa) of Powder Springs, GA, Eric Furr of Powder Springs, GA; great-grandsons Will Hackett & Seth Furr; great-granddaughters Abigail Furr & Nora Furr; He is preceded in death by his loving wife Doris Meadows. Raymond was raised on a farm in Powder Springs, by his parents Thomas & Ada Corene Meadows. He was a graduate of Powder Springs High School, and always looked forward to their class reunions.

He later married Doris Mitchell and they were together for 62 years. Raymond worked for many years at Coats & Clarks Textiles and was instrumental in helping to organize the museum in Austell, GA. He later began working for AllState Insurance as a Manager.

Raymond loved tennis, whether he was playing or watching it on T.V. He was also the captain for an ALTA team for many years. Raymond had a relationship with God and loved being a member of Clarkdale United Methodist Church in Powder Springs.

Raymond’s family will always remember his love for anything sweet, especially home-made ice cream, but most of all they will remember his undying love for his family. His loving presence will be forever missed. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 between the hours of 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Macland Chapel.

Interment will follow the service at Powder Springs City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family has requested donations be made to Clarkdale United Methodist Church in Powder Springs, GA. Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home & Crematory Macland Chapel, in Powder Springs is in charge of the arrangements.
