Rebecca Hofmeister , November 25, 1942 — April 28, 2018

Rebecca Hofmeister, 75, of Blandinsville passed away at 11:35 p.m. Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Wesley Village Healthcare Center in Macomb. She was born on November 25, 1942 in Blandinsville to Wyatt F. and Eleanor L. Bridges Anderson. She married Frederick Hofmeister on March 29, 1958 in Blandinsville.

He passed away on August 29, 2005 after 47 years of marriage. She is also preceded in death by her parents and one infant daughter, Tammy Jo Hofmeister. She is survived by two sons, Steven (Becky) Hofmeister of Smithville, Missouri and Michael (Amy) Hofmeister of Blandinsville; one daughter, Rhonda (Gary) Frederick of Bushnell; six grandchildren Logan (Andrea) Frederick of Normal, Addison, Eleanor, and Wyatt Hofmeister of Smithville, MO.

, Emma and Maya Hofmeister of Blandinsville, two great-grandchildren Elsa and Paige Frederick of Normal, sisters-in-law, Linda Hofmeister, Mardell Wagy and Carol (Phillip) Ellrich; brother-in-law, Arthur Hofmeister; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She worked at the Blandinsville School as a cook for many years, and at Gene and Bev’s grocery store before retiring when the store closed. Her favorite pastimes were working with Fred in their yard and garden and traveling, particularly to see their children and grandchildren.

She was active in the Blandinsville Community Organization and several other community activities. Becky was a true native of Blandinsville, a village with many friends and neighbors that she truly loved. Becky and Fred were the third generation of her family to raise their children in the very house in which she was born.

Becky and Fred lived in Bushnell for a few years early in their marriage prior to returning to live in the family home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 5, 2018 at Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Blandinsville with Reverend Lyren Haney officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville. The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorials be made to the Blandinsville Community Organization, Blandinsville Park District, Blandinsville-Hire Library or Blandinsville Fire Department.
