Donald Wherley, 87, of Macomb, passed away at 6:15 a.m. Monday, July 16, 2018 at Heartland Healthcare Center in Macomb. He was born on August 13, 1930 in Macomb to Pius and Laura Lauderback Wherley. He married Marva Johnson on May 25, 1952.

She passed away in 1989. Also preceding him in death by his parents; five brothers, Pius “Wendell”, Richard, Harold “Babe”, Jim and Norris in infancy and three sisters, Lois Haney, Ann Coven and Wanda Himmell. Donald is survived by one son, Randy Wherley of Lafayette, Indiana; one daughter, Diana Moore of Industry; four grandchildren, Michael Wherley, Adam Wherley, Jeremy Moore and Brandon Wherley; three great-grandchildren and one sister, Peggy Ross of Nixa, Msissouri.

He lived in McDonough County most of his life. He graduated from VIT High School in Table Grove. He worked for Navistar-International Harvester for many years retiring in 1990.

He was a former member of Industry Kiwanis and served on the Industry town board. He was an avid sports fan. Cremation rites have been accorded.

A lunch will be served at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Industry United Methodist Church with a Celebration of Life to follow at 1:30 p.m. Burial of ashes will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Industry Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Industry United Methodist Church or the Industry Fire and Rescue Squad. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Macomb is in charge of arrangements.
