Carroll K. “Jim” Kitchen, 82, of Blandinsville passed away at 6:35 p.m. Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Heartland Healthcare Center in Macomb. He was born on February 2, 1936 in Libertyville, Iowa, the youngest of 12 to Samuel Sr. and Vernie Maring Kitchen. He married Ruth Ann Millspaugh in 1956.

She preceded him in death. He then married Mary Wallace in 1975. She preceded him in death in 2016.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Paul, Gerald, Billy, Donald and Samuel; six sisters, Florence, Nellie, Neva, Kathryn, Geraldine and Barbara and step-sons, Jeff and Danny Monroe. Jim is survived by his children, Kimberly (Matthew) Burford of Carthage, Royal Kitchen of Alvin, Texas, Wesley Kitchen of Wareham, Massachusetts and Susan (Jeff, deceased) Monroe of Blandinsville; step-children, Kalyn (Joe) Wilcoxen of Blandinsville, Russell Coates of Nashville, Tennessee, William Coates of Monticello, Minnesota and Robert Monroe; many grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. He lived in LaHarpe and Blandinsville most of his life.

He enjoyed wood working and crafts. He was a dedicated employee for Charlie Hensley farms for over 20 years. Before that he worked for Lowell Cortelyou.

Cremation rites have been accorded. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Glade City Cemetery in Blandinsville with Reverend Lyren Haney officiating. There will be no visitation.

Memorials may be made to Blandinsville Rescue Squad. Clugston-Tibbitts Funeral Home in Blandinsville is in charge of arrangements.
