Val Gordon Thurow passed away on September 27th, at the age of 56 years. Val will be forever remembered by his closest companion Chris Harwick, his brothers and sister, his extended family, and many friends and acquaintances. Val was preceeded in death by his parents Gordon Ray Thurow and Judith Gale (Swift) Thurow.

He is survived by his lifetime companion Chris Harwick of Industry, IL, his brother Mike and wife Debi of Fayetteville, AR, his brother Sam and wife Debbie of Mary Bank, New Zealand, his sister Laurel of Seattle, WA, and his brother Shawn and wife Tracy of West Fork, AR. Val was born on October 2nd , 1961, in Lawrence, Kansas, and has resided in the Macomb area since 1965. Val graduated from Macomb High School in 1979, and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Transportation from Sangamon State University.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A graveside service will also be held at 10:30 am on October 6th at the Industry Cemetery, with a Celebration of Life gathering to follow at the American Legion Hall in Macomb, IL from noon until 4pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions may be made to the Humane Society of McDonough County, or the College Fund for Madison and Danielle Emge.
